about
Hannah Juliane Steenbeck (she/her), based in Berlin, is currently working as a freelance dancer and choreographer in Germany and Switzerland.
Her work is inspired by different ways of moving: from rhythmic gymnastics to breaking, popping, hip hop, house and contemporary dance.
She is very interested in improvisation and unusual movement patterns, which she uses to find challenges in her work.
She is member of Merge Dance Collective and the interdisciplinary collective Zookunft.Project. Her own choreographic work was awarded second prize at the competition “The best German dance solo”” of the festival euro scene Leipzig in 2017, the audience award at the short piece competition of LOFFT Theater Leipzig in 2018 and second prize at the solo competition tanzspeicher Würzburg in 2020.
