In their piece “over the edge”, dancers Lilly Bendl and Hannah Juliane Steenbeck investigate what happens when human contact is minimized: What can everyday life look like when we only run across our own furniture? What is missing and how do we adapt? What are the effects of states of maximum contact? On the one hand too much, on the other hand too little distance, isolation despite shared space, loneliness in pairs, when is the contact overstimulated?
Since much of current life takes place in front of and on the screen, the dancers seek to translate it back into the three-dimensional. They combine the architecture of corners in space with the two-dimensionality of projection and move in between.
